New Business Cards

Today I received all my new business cards and other pieces from my personalised marketing set.  I am so happy with the results!!  All in all I got new business cards, note cards, magnets, and note pad and pens!!  The pens are fabulous, they were a last minute order and just for a bit of fun really but I love them!!

The colours look amazing, especially the starry yellow back of the note and business cards.  Makes me smile to look at them, they are so bright and fun and so ME ;)

A day at the zoo...

My mum was lucky enough to win a weekend away in Sydney and was kind enough to take my sister and I as her travel buddies.  Included in her prize were tickets to the Toronga Zoo which I was thrilled about.  I couldn't remember the last time I was at a zoo and there were going to be animals there I'd never seen in the flesh before.  My highlights of the day would have to be the elephants (the baby was just too cute and was playing while we were watching) and giraffes...

When we first passed the tiger enclosure, we weren't able to see much for the crowds of people and the fact the tiger was having a nap way up the back.  Later, as we were leaving and had another look in, he was pacing the entrance.  Apparently, there are 2 tigers but only ever one in the enclosure at any one time.  When it is close to change over time, they pace about which for me, was a perfect time to grab a beautiful shot of him.

These little finches were just sitting on a walk bridge that we passed and were just so cute there together I had to snap them.  The walk bridge was gorgeous too with the moss covering some of it.

This next fella is a red panda.  Before I saw him I had no idea what one looked like and if I had to guess, he wouldn't have looked like this.  He was more like a fox than a traditional panda or bear.  As I snapped this, he was reaching for some leaves and looked right at me.... kind of looks to me like he's waving.  HI!!

Next were the gorillas.  When they weren't in their play pen, they were actually quite depressing.  Such gorgeous creatures but they look so much like people to me (older people) that to see them "trapped" (in a sense) is what was sad.  When they were outside, running and moving about, they did seem happier and "easier" to look at.  But they are beautiful and there was a baby here as well.

We were lucky we even got to see the bear!  For the entire day, he was laying on a rock, flat on his back with one leg resting up.  He looked so funny, like a discarded old rug, but not worth taking a photo of until later when it must have been close to feeding time because he was up and moving about and looked to be on a mission!

The lions were a touch disappointing, although it wasn't their fault the whole time.  Everytime we went to see them, there were so many people, you couldn't get closer than about 10 feet from the glass and they weren't doing anything.  I was able to snap just one of the female lion and I was just so pleased with it.  She too, appears to be on a mission.  He on the otherhand, is just hanging out!!

My favourite was probably the giraffes.  I wasn't ready for just how big and how spectacular they are.  Their beautiful coats were so shiny and looked like a perfect painted surface, I wished I could reach out and pat one!!

That was our day at the zoo.  That afternoon, we headed home and exhausted after a big day with all the animals.  Coming soon will be photos I took at the aquarium with some super pretty coral and a gorgeous dugong :)

NEW NEW NEW

YAAAAAAAAAY!!  It's finally finished and has arrived!!  Introducing the new look for

Kylie Gillis PHOTOGRAPHY

I couldn't be happier with how it all looks.  My logo and personalised marketing set were designed by Kim Drury of Madilu Designs in the US and all I can say is thank you thank you thank you!!
With just a small amount of info and a colour suggestion, Kim was able to create something that is so very me and far beyond my imagination and expectations!!  I am in love with my logo and I especially love the chunky stripes in the marketing set to grab your attention.
Now just to have everything printed......

Obviously, as you can see above, I'm really loving yellow at the moment and these tulips below were just so stunning.  As flowers do though, they did bend and 'flop' down the side of the vase they were in.  What I loved was the gorgeous, bulbous bottoms.  The petals felt and looked tight and thick.  As lovely as the fronts always are of flowers, the back can be just as interesting, if not more because its not the part of the flower we tend to admire.

My favourite is the last one showing off his backside ;)

I've got lots to post about to stay tuned for some great photos and a small competition coming soon too!!

Congratulations and all the best!

XENA - Big Dog

Xena belongs to my Dad and she is about 6 now. My dad recently had a birthday so I took the liberty of taking Xenas photos to guarantee a great present that he would love. She is a gorgeous dog who is full of love and is likely to lick you to death before she would ever hurt you intentionally. Unintentionally though, she can really hit hard with that big solid head but one look into those beautiful brown eyes of hers and all is forgiven - what’s one or two bruises between friends!!

Xena is a real sweetie and she has a "thing" for me...... and with a face like that who could say no.....!!!

To Manda......

One of my very best good friends, Amanda, has been living abroad now for about 4 years.  In that time she's been just about everywhere Korea and Greece, Spain and Scotland but mainly in London and I've missed her laugh, I've missed our chats and I've and missed her singing (only slightly...... if at all) but it won't be long now and she will be home!  YAY!
The last time she was home was for Christmas 09 but it feels like a decade since I've seen her and this was a photo of us then.

I've known Amanda now for 20 years and together we've laughed, we've cried, we've travelled, we've eaten, we've danced, we've had too much to drink, but mainly we've laughed.  I don't talk to her as much as I'd like to but think about her almost every day.
She is such a beautiful person inside and out who deserves nothing but the best of everything.  I miss her so much and am looking forward to when she gets home.....

The middle reads:

For those of you who know Amanda and I and our friendship may understand some of what has been said but most will think I'm just crazy.... I just wanted to tell her how important she is to me and always will be.

Love you miss you can’t wait to see you :) Mmmwah xxooxx
