Sarah and Jake - Forever After xx

I had the privilege of photographing Jake and Sarah's wedding in September, held at the stunning Yandina Station on the Sunshine Coast.  I went to high school with Jake and was touched when he asked me to be his official photographer.  The weather leading up to the big day wasn't the driest and to have sunshine on the day was looking like a distant possibility.  But, as luck would have, it ended up being a lovely day and during the ceremony and photography time, we had nice, dry weather and the sun popped out once or twice.

Such a beautiful tree and in colour or black and white, it was so amazing and looks great :)

The ceremony was held under the beautiful big old tree that I featured in their engagement shoot and Sarah and the girls walked to us, gathered by hay bails under the gorgeous tree.  Sarah looked just stunning in her gorgeous dress and walked done by her dad.  The boys all looked handsome and happy as they awaited her arrival.  It was a lovely ceremony followed by a relaxed and  picturesque mingle session before we started with the photographs.

 LOVE LOVE LOVE these......... *sigh*.........

I loved the rustic old shed that the reception was held in and it looked fantastic decorated with the gorgeous yellow roses and white tables and chairs.

It was a fabulous location with so many photo possibilities that at times I felt almost overwhelmed :)

These were some of our final photos of the day and easily in my top shots of the day.  I love the beautiful grounds and gorgeous back drop

I think this is my favourite shot of the day although it is very hard to choose considering I love them all hehehe :) and they look so darn cute together ;D

Thanks guys for letting me share in your big day.  I has a ball photographing you and catching up with old friends, all at a stunning location.

Congratulations and all the very best to a very happy life together xx

Beautiful Stradbroke Island

I had never been to Stradbroke Island and had no idea it was almost within spitting distance of home (well, half hour drive to the marina and then and hour and a bit on the ferry but really, it's right there).  Mum and I spent a glorious day over there photographing the water and wild life.  Our guide, Shane said we were very lucky and in his time coming to the island with many people, he'd never seen so much wildlife in one trip.

He looked so pround sitting in his big tree!

This mumma koala jumped from one tree too another with her baby hanging on tightly around her tummy (hard to see in the photos but it is there, I promise!!  You can see his arm clinging onto mums armpit!)

We watched for ages as this pod of dolphins swam way out to sea, breaking the surface now and then.  They slowly made there way to us and incredibly, caught a wave and rode it right to us.  Five of them came to within 50 metres from shore, popping out of the wave, both front and back.  They were just so beautiful :)

The beautiful water and surf..... so inviting :)

Loved the colour of this little shell, I've never seen a purple shell like this before.

And this was our last stop, Brown Lake.  The colours in the water were amazing and you can easily see how the lake got its name ;)

I had a great day on Stradie and would love to go back for another adventure some day soon........ really soon!!

Eshoot - Sarah and Jake........ LOVE

When Jake and Sarah asked me to be their photographer for their wedding day in September 2011 at Yandina Station, I was thrilled to say yes, but.... I had never heard of Yandina Station.  Turned out to be one of THE most beautiful places I've had the pleasure of shooting at, and not once, but twice!!

We decided to meet for their engagement shoot at Yandina Station, where we could meet up and chat to go over all the little things before the big wedding day.  As it was, the place is so large with so many places to photograph, I knew we'd be able to do the 2 shoots and not double up on locations too much :)

I loved the doors on this old building right near the parking area and I believe it is the 'reception' area.  We were there on a Sunday afternoon and able to just wonder around, taking our time and touring the grounds........ it was just gorgeous!!

Friendly dog popped in to say hello to the happy couple :)

Love this one

LOVED this shed.  This will end up being the shed that the reception will be held in.

The ceremony will be held under this tree.... and as you can see, it is simply stunning :)

This was easily my favourite little series from the afternoon.  Not only am I in love with the wall of this shed but for a little fun, I got Sarah and Jake to blow heart sequins towards me at the camera.  Something a little different and I loved the end result.

The following week, Jake and Sarah got married and again, we managed to get some beautiful shots at this gorgeous location :)
