WEEK 42 - Fun Foto Firday

These are the younger magpies that like to hang around our clothes line waiting for the guy upstairs to throw down his scrap bread crusts.  It can get annoying on washing day just because I can get the occasional dropping on my clothes or towels.  Magpies don't generally like me either and they tend to want to 'go' me whenever they can or swoop and dive.  I've been told that magpies are excellent at remembering faces so if you are nasty or aggressive towards them ie. "shooo you bugger.... get outta here" waving arms and yelling, they will always remember and will 'go' for you again and again.  On that note, I don't look them in the eyes so I seem submissive and they will know that I mean nothing to them.
Big toughy I am!

FUN FOTO FRIDAY - Week 41

I totally forgot to post this one last Friday.  I managed to get it onto my facebook page but neglected my dear old blog.  This weeks photo is of the adorable little Reagan.  She was on a visit from Melbourne and we spent a cloudy afternoon with the mossies getting some shots of her in my headbands.

She was such a well behaved little girl.  She is nearly 3 but you would have never guessed - she did everything she was told and did it all with a big smile.  Big thanks to her mum Yesmin and little brother for their patience while we fussed about getting some gorgeous shots of this beautiful girl.

Thanks Reagie to you too xx

I can't wait to share more from this afternoon, she was such a sweet heart......

WEEK 40 - Fun Foto Friday

It was very difficult to pick only one photo from this shoot.  We had postponed twice already due to the recent bad weather and yesterday was no exception.  Leading up to the shoot, in stormed and rained heavily and even when I was on my way to meet Corinne at the beach, it was raining and I was driving towards a massive dark cloud.  I truly thought I'd get there and once again, we'd have to make another day or cancel all together.  To my absolute surprise, by the time we got to the beach itself, the sun appeared from behind a cloud and for 20 minutes, we had the most unbelievable light!!  We were even lucky enough to have a random beach go-er come a give us a quick hand, getting the material in the air.

I am delighted with the shots that we got and this one is all in the name of FUN.  In the editing process I gave it a vintage wash and an old school feel.  The sky was just beautiful at that moment and I just love this shot and Corinne's big smile.  Thanks for you patience and persistence and I can't wait to share more!

xx

FUN FOTO FRIDAY - Week 36, 37, 38 & 39.... whoops ;)

WEEK 36
Well, aside from my first anniversary falling during the week and my husband taking the day off to hang out with me, I have had a very quiet and some might even say lazy week..... I haven't even picked up my camera.  I did however spend a lot of time editing this week and getting some model call outs finalised for the coming weeks.  This series of shots is from my recent trip to Stradbroke Island.  We were watching a pod of dolphins way off shore for ages and then a small group made their way towards us.  I was so excited that I was able to capture them as they broke the surface..... not just once but twice..... WOOHOO for me!!

This is the series as they got closer to us, first swimming, then one popped out the front and a little bit later, one popped out the back.  The water was such an unbelievable shade of bluey green and was crystal clear - it was just amazing.

WEEK 37
This is the beautiful Sarah and Jake from their recent wedding at Yandina on the Sunshine Coast.  It was such a most gorgeous location, it was actually hard to shoot at as there was so many different places to shoot, I felt a little overwhelmed.  This is one of my favourite shots of the day and I adore the look of love that is being exchanged here...... *sigh*

WEEK 38
I love Spring and I especially love the smell of Spring.  This 'yesterday, today and tomorrow' tree grows outside my office window and when the breeze is just right, I get a big whiff of its glorious scent.  I spotted this little fella on a return from a walk and didn't think I'd be lucky enough to get in the house, get my camera, put in the card and get back outside to shoot him before he took off.  But luck was on my side that day and he was still there.

I love the colours together and I can't wait to print this baby on a big ol' canvas :)

WEEK 39
I recently did a model call out on my facebook page for some little girls to model some of the headbands that I've been making.  This is little Charlotte who is 8months old and was such fun to photograph.  Mum, Rowena, was an amazing help getting her to smile and clap, she even had me giggling!  We spent a windy afternoon at their picturesque home on the Sunshine Coast and we go lots and lots of gorgeous shots of this little princess.

Obviously this isn't on of the headbands that I've made, but a beanie I bought as a prop.  I hadn't used it and my adorable model was more than happy to help me out hehehe!

Who doesn't love a little monkey!?!?  Can't wait to share more from this shoot........ :)
