Week 4 - Fun Foto Friday

I apologise for not having this post yesterday but I had a big day shooting newborn twins on the Sunshine Coast and then my lovely husband took me out for a lovely dinner last night.  For Week 4 I have chosen the gorgeous little Eden Rose.  She was my model on Wednesday when I needed someone to shoot in my newly purchased petti skirts and little leg warmers.  After the shoot was done, I rewarded her with a giant star freckle-pop.  She loved it and managed to eat nearly the whole thing in a matter of minutes!!  When she had had enough, this is what remained.......

I thought it was amazing considering in was the afternoon of Australia Day!!
Thanks Eden for being a great little model and to mum Renee for letting me borrow her : )

Trash the Dress #1

For months now I've been trying to find someone who was willing to destroy their wedding dress in the theme Trash the Dress.  The idea is to have photos done that you wouldn't normally have done for fear of getting dirty or destroying your dress.  I'd had no luck finding anyone willing to destroy the dress they paid a lot of money for and that made them look outstanding on the happiest day of their lives.  I was going to have to resort to buying a dress from the op shop and finding someone to wear it.  Well, I didn't have to worry about it in the end..... my friend in Japan, Jemima, must have sensed my desires and when she was home for a little while a couple of weeks ago, asked if we could destroy a dress she had just made!  I jumped at the chance knowing she was someone who would also put herself right out there for a great shot.  As it was, Jemima had not just one dress made and ready to wreck.... but two!!  We decided to do two separate days at two different locations.

This is day one, dress one, taken on and around the beach at Point Cartwright on the Sunshine Coast.  We had so much fun!!

I did a few nice shots for her as well as she's getting involved in some modeling over in Japan.  I'm sure she will blow them away too.  She needed no direction when we were shooting, the camera just loves her!!

Like a monkey in a tree......

The above shot is one of my favourites.... I love the look on Jemimas face and I love the old feel to it.  To me it looks like a photo taken in the 70's...

It was an awesome afternoon!!!  Day two was just as much fun, if not more.  We destroyed this dress even more then too, will post those photos soon.  Thanks to Angie for doing the make up and to Amanda for being a great little helper and holder of the gear on the day :)

Fun Foto Friday - Week 3

This week has been so hot, you wouldn't believe it's been raining here since summer began but this week it was back with a vengeance!!  I saw this guy out the office window yesterday and he seemed to be 'playing' for my attention.  So I grabbed my camera and went straight outside to try and get a shot of him.  He totally had other ideas though.... He flapped about and went from tree to tree, flower to flower and branch to branch for a-g-e-s while I followed closely behind, ready to snap when he finally stayed still.  After about 30-40 minutes of him playing with me and getting my hopes up, he eventually landed and remained still for 0.5 of a second, but long enough for me to capture this.  I love it because it really says summer to me with the big yellow flower in the background :)

Big Boy SCOUT

Please meet one of the loveliest dogs...... ever!!  His name is Scout, he is a Rhodesian ridgeback, he is just adorable and he totally stole my heart.  I had the pleasure of taking some photos of him for Liana to surprise her partner Tony for his upcoming birthday.  Scout has such a lovely personality and surprisingly, he would do anything for a piece of carrot!  I've never met a dog prepared to eat carrot let alone be so mesmerised when we flashed him a chunk!

His photos were taken at Lianas beautiful home in Samford Valley and it was a great afternoon..... I had so much fun!

Such a big, beautiful boy.... and so proud standing there..... I think he was glaring at the nextdoor neighbours dog, ready to pounce if need be :)

This has to be one of my favourites...

And I totally love these two too, I love the wrinkles on his head...

The big puppy dog eyes melts my heart.... really, Liana is lucky I didn't throw him in my car when I left and take him home with me hehehe :)

I'm looking forward to dropping off Lianas prints later this week if only to get another cuddle from the gorgeous Scout xx

Week 2 - Fun Foto Friday

These gorgeous little flowers grow down the road from where I live in Hendra and totally grabbed my attention with their vibrant colours. I could've put photos in this week of the devastating floods but decided that we have had enough sadness this week and thought a bit of colour to brighten our day was in order!! If anyone knows the name of these little beauties, please feel free to let me know.

Have a wonderful weekend all :)

FUN FOTO FRIDAY - Week 1

My first official photo in my 52 week challenge is Jemima in a shower of bubbles.  We did a Trash-the-Dress session during the week with Mima wearing dresses she made especially for the purpose of trashing!  We had so much fun down at the beach and also on Amandas dads property in Mooloolah in the mud and rain.  This was just an idea I had in my head with the umbrella and bubbles and I am super happy with the result.

Thanks to Manda for being my bubble gun girl and to Mima for being so willing to trash such a lovely dress.  A full post including many more photos will come in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned....

2011 - WOOHOO :)

2011 is here and this year I'm looking forward to having a busy and fun year full of photos and good times.  This year is shaping up to be a big one with a few shoots already on the horizon - newborn babies, families, a wedding later in the year and a trash the dress this week; I can't wait to get started!!

I've decided that to keep myself busy and constantly shooting, I'm going to post a photo a week for 52 weeks.  I think I'll call it FUN FOTO FRIDAY and every Friday I will post a photo that I've taken that I love, be it a clients photo or something I shot around the house.  Also, I'm going to run competitions for people to win either a photo shoot with credit to go towards photos or canvases, or some of my own images, either framed or displayed as Canvas Art.  Next week will mark my first Friday Foto for the year and I'll also post a competition next week so keep checking back to see what it'll be.

I'm so looking forward to meeting new people and capturing them with their loved ones and believe this year will be one to remember.  Happy New Year everyone and I can't wait to start shooting!!

This is just a little one I've been playing with....... taken today at the botanical gardens, I love that place and these guys are everywhere.  Enjoy :)
