FUN FOTO FRIDAY - Week 17

I decided to call this guy Ralph..... he looks like a Ralph to me!

Ralph was just hanging out one afternoon in a neighbour's tree when we went to go for a walk.  As we wandered by, he was making a lot of noise, like he was having just the best time, getting drunk on some sweet, sweet flower juice, on a sunny Sunday afternoon!!!

He was a little bashful and I thought maybe the camera shutter was making Ralph either nervous.... or he was being a little bugger and just running away from me, like he knew what I was trying to do!
I was fairly close to him but he had a friend that was wayyyyyyy up the top of the tree and hard to get a good view of (other than straight up his tail)!!
I followed Ralph for a while and the whole time he and his mate were both singing away and enjoying their juice!

This is Ralph between sips of the beautiful flowers on a flowering gum tree.

Apparently it's a dwarf variety of grafted eucalypt.

ENJOY your weekend :)

Maternity shoot with Ashleigh

I had the pleasure of taking Ashleigh's maternity photos and was rapt with the final result.  It helped that I had a gorgeous model who was happy to do "whatever" when it came to posing.  It had been really wet leading up to our afternoon shoot so some of my ideas for outside, didn't work (their yard was like a swamp hehe).
Ashleigh was absolutely awesome though, happy to take her clothes off for some of the photos and for our last series, outside, she climbed through a barbed wire fence to stand in the neighbours cow paddock!  Now thats what I call a fabulous model!!  She was so relaxed and easy going which made for one outstanding shoot.  I did manage to snap a few shots of her 2 older children as well, who also happen to be just gorgeous.

This is probably my favourite photo from the day.  I just love the colours and tones.

This was an idea I had and she was so good at just going along with me and my ideas.....
crazy photographer lady hehe :)

But this was what I wanted..... I love it!!

I love the contrast between Ashleigh and her husbands (Dom) hands.

This is the cow paddock next door to where Ashleigh and Dom live.  It worked so well for the photos and you'd never know the ground under foot was covered in cow you-know-whats hehe.

I also love this shoot, just so natural and taken at just the right time :)

This is Leila who looooved my pettiskirts and legwarmers

and this laughing fella is big brother Rueben.

I will follow up with some of the newborn shots of the newest addition, Eloise, soon.  Thanks to Ashleigh and Dom and Rueben and Leila for a great afternoon.

WEEK 16 - Fun Foto Friday

I was lucky enough to photograph the Greenfield family up at Point Perry, Coolum on Thursday.
They were a super lovely bunch and this is little Mia, the apple of everyones eye.  She looks so much like her mum, Helen with her big blue eyes and is a really happy little poppet!  It was sort of a family reunin with some family here from South Africa and one from New Zealand.  It was an absolute pleasure spending the afternoon with them, capturing some family fun times on the beach.  Plenty more to come too xx

A Night of Zumba :)

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Ang the Zumba instructor doing what she does best - ZUMBA!  We had a great time getting some photos before her class began that she can use for her web site and Facebook page.  These shots were taken just around the hall where her class was held and I was blown away by how fantastic and photogenic the whole area was.  We had coloured walls and doors, textured walls and a wide open green field (a bit sloppy due to all the rain but still usable).

We were joined by her son Will, the little ZumbAtomic.  He was just so cute all dressed up and ready to get his Zumba on!!

Mr Will - fired up for his Zumba class with Mum!!  He even hung out and joined in the class, it was adorable to watch!

These were probably my favourite shots of the day.  I love the colour combination of purple, green and brown, makes it feel natural I think.  And she looks relaxed and happy!

We tried a few jumping shots and this was easily the best, not only in terms of her facials but how high she got off the ground from a standing start.... wow!

I really liked all the shots in front of this awesome red door.  We were going for a hip hop look and feel for this series and they turned out great!!

All the shots with the speakers worked really well also.  The photo with the white background was one of her favourites as well as one of mine.  Her expression is perfect and I've managed to place my watermark to look like the brand name (not intentionally)!

This is the class enjoying themselves while they dance away the calories.  To tell the truth, I felt really out of place not dancing around while the catchy music was playing but I had a great time shooting for Ang!!

Thanks to Ang and to her class for the opportunity!

FUN FOTO FRIDAY - Week 15

For a few days this week, I have had a little visitor.  His name is Dougal, he is a mini foxy and he lives a few houses down from me.  I was walking past his house on Tuesday and saw he was out of his yard, I put him back over the fence and sternly told him to stay!!  About 20 minutes later I heard a knock at my front door and upon investigating, there sat little Dougal, wagging his tail and looking all confident.  He had managed to follow my scent home!!  Well, the cheeky thing was here all afternoon on Tuesday and yesterday, he and I hung out together, both in my office and back at his place where I managed to take a few photos of him.

I tried to keep him in his own yard by blocking up the holes I found along the fence line but he is very clever and would just dig another hole and make his way down to me so I figured he wanted the company (and I was feeling a bit the same).  In the end, I took him home but had to tie him up.  Though I made sure he couldn't snag himself on anything and he had access to water, but being the big softy I am, I had to go and check on him after a while to make sure he was ok.  He was, so we played ball for a short time before he went back on the lead.

I haven't seen him today and I know his mum has gone to work so it seems like the problem is solved.  I kind of miss him though, my little buddy while I sat at the computer.  Might have to go down and see him later this afternoon and play some ball with him again :)

Little Miss Scarlett and Miss Indiah

These gorgeous little ladies are Indiah Ivy and Scarlett Ann.

They were the hardest little models I've ever photographed but an absolute delight to meet.  I had to do two shoots in the end as on our first attempt, they were very upset with tummy aches.  When one was happily settled, the other would be screaming, and vice versa.  It made it very tricky to get any decent shots of them together so on my second attempt, we were lucky enough to get a few together when they were happy and content.  I had to be very quick but we got there in the end!!

These are easily the best shots of the girls together but I literally had 30 seconds to get the shots as they had both weed on each other!!  Click click click.... and that was it but I couldn't be happier with the shots

Sleeping little angels.....
I worked so hard to get these shots of the girls together but it was all worth it in the end....

I love these little skirts.  They are tiny but the girls made them look big....

You wouldn't believe that during this shot, both girls were screaming up at daddy.  Poor bubbas, love the shot though hehe :)

Indiah above with the darker hair....

and Scarlett, the little blondey :)

What a treat it was to photograph the girls.  It was my first shoot with twins and I'm sooooo super happy with the shots I got.  Many, many hours, lots and lots of screaming, more pee and poo than you could poke a stick at but all in all, two delightful little babies who were a joy to meet.
Thanks to Taya and Sam for your patience, assistance and wipes and for allowing me to capture the newest members of your gorgeous family.

WEEK 14 - Fun Foto Friday

This week was a busy office week and not so much shooting really.  On Thursday, I did help out my friend Renee on her shoot - 8 toddlers, at 7am!!  So being the incredible person I am (hehehe) I was on the southside of Brisbane by 6.30am and ready to go!  I was more of a helper for Renee, getting forms filled out and help setting up, but my main job for the day was to  "quack" the stuffed duck!  It worked as a brilliant toy to keep the kids looking towards the camera.

I did manage to snap a couple photos and this is Lola.
Her mum organised the shoot for her mothers group as an opportunity to get all the kidlets together.  We had a couple tears in the group shot but nothing a few chocolate eggs or a lollypop couldn't fix!

I'm glad I could help out and we had a super strong coffee afterwards and a nice lunch to reward ourselves on a tricky morning.

I think the duck was tickling her fingers on the left and she was blowing kisses goodbye to a few of the kids as they were leaving.... such a little sweetheart :)

FUN FOTO FRIDAY - Week 13

This weeks photo comes from a shoot I did on Saturday for Divinity Nail and Beauty, on the Sunshine Coast.  Belinda wanted some new photos for her business to use on her web page as well as for advertising for her car.

This little stunner is Kasey.  She was an absolute trooper and fabulous model for us, being dolled up for a "formal" look.  She takes an amazing photo and looked so hot with the fiery red lips, but I absolutely loved this shot of her glittery long eyelashes.  I will have a lot more to share in the coming weeks but you can see a few more on my Facebook page here.  Be sure to LIKE my page at the top and share with your friends.

Thanks everyone and I hope you have a wonderful weekend :)
