Trash the Dress - FINAL

This is the last post relating to the Trash the Dress series I did with some friends back in January.  Day one (see here) was a white dress that our model Jemima made which ended up all wet and soggy from being thrown around in the surf.  It was dried over night and on day two, after we destroyed dress number 2 (see here) before having another crack at the white frock.  So I had this big bright idea to use fluro paints to squirt over the dress, again with the help of my trusty assistant Manda.  Let's just say Manda was up to the challenge!!  It was an absolute hoot!!!  Turned out much better than I could picture in my head and the colours were amazing against the white dress.  Again, Jemima was a trooper and was more than happy to go along with my crazy ideas. 

So without further delay, here are the photos.....

This above shot is easily my favourite - I love her expression and all the colours....

WEEK 12 - Fun Foto Friday

I'm cheating a little bit this week!!!  This little cherub belongs to Ashleigh who was my Fun Foto Friday for week 7 at her maternity shoot.  I'm off to see her and her adorable family again this afternoon to shoot their newest addition, Eloise. 

This is big sister Leila who loved the camera and the camera loved her!  I love her beautiful hair and gorgeous big eyes - can't wait to show them all the gorgeous maternity photos and capture Eloise later today :)

Little Miss Klaudia

I was lucky enough to help out my good friend and fellow photographer Renee Skewis with this shoot of the devine Miss Klaudia.  She was 2 weeks old but born 4 weeks premature so she was still so little and absolutely gorgeous.  She slept the whole time for us and was no trouble at all, one might say, the perfect little model.....

This furry blanket is one of my favourites to use now, it photographs so well and has such  an awesome texture, both colour and black and white.

My grandmother made this purple hat for me and it finally got used with Klaudia, who looks like a little gum nut baby :)

This is easily my favourite shot from the day, such a cherub and I love the little headband with the blanket.... perfect match :)

She makes this newborn beanie and bootie set look massive on her perfect little head.

She really was the perfect model, letting us put hat after hat on her and move her every which way.  Thank you so much Renee for letting me come along as your helper/second shooter, I'm so over the moon with her and my shots!!

FUN FOTO FRIDAY - Week 11

We had a fantastic week up in North Queensland, visiting Marks parents in Tully.  It rained on and off the whole time we were there but we did manage to get some lovely weather for fishing and photos.

Every morning without fail, Marks dad Joe would rescue a beautiful, big, green frog from the toilet that we would later release away from the house.  This day, we released this guy down in the river (making sure no crocs were there for an easy snack).  Just before he swam away, I got this quick photo of him resting on a branch, half in and half out of the river.  It was a gorgeous morning, just before we headed out in the boat and I totally love all the reflections, especially the blues from the sky.

I'll have more photos to share from our holiday soon and another frog too :)

Week 10 - FUN FOTO FRIDAY

This week I've got some pretty red roses.  Everyone deserves a rose and today is no exception!!

We're off to north Queensland for the next 8 days and hopefully won't get flooded in and will be able to return home.  Looks like we'll have to send tonight in Cairns before heading to Tully to see Marks parents in the next couple of days.  The weather prediction isn't looking very good and the highway is already closed but we have faith we'll get to see his folks and have a nice trip away.  My week 11 for Fun Foto Friday may be late next week, as we arrive home on the Saturday but hopefully I'll have something nice to share from our journeys around Nth Qld.  Fingers crossed y'all :)

Fun Foto Friday - WEEK 9

This week, I have a double up!!  This was the view we had on Monday night while having a glass of wine.  Not from our place of course but from Marks uncles new unit in Highgate Hill.  He was away for the week and invited us to come and use the place if we wanted for a BBQ and drink.  We jumped at the offer and spent the afternoon watching the sun go down over the city.  It was spectacular!!  I love the city lights and they were so close, it felt like we could reach out and touch them.  He really does have a million dollar view!  I love the top photo with the Gateway Bridge in the background lit up blue and the plane trailing through the sky on its way to land at the Brisbane airport.  The bottom shot is the whole city which was smack bang in the centre of his verandah.  It was a great night with yummy food, good wine, good company and a phenomenal view!
