For months now I've been trying to find someone who was willing to destroy their wedding dress in the theme Trash the Dress. The idea is to have photos done that you wouldn't normally have done for fear of getting dirty or destroying your dress. I'd had no luck finding anyone willing to destroy the dress they paid a lot of money for and that made them look outstanding on the happiest day of their lives. I was going to have to resort to buying a dress from the op shop and finding someone to wear it. Well, I didn't have to worry about it in the end..... my friend in Japan, Jemima, must have sensed my desires and when she was home for a little while a couple of weeks ago, asked if we could destroy a dress she had just made! I jumped at the chance knowing she was someone who would also put herself right out there for a great shot. As it was, Jemima had not just one dress made and ready to wreck.... but two!! We decided to do two separate days at two different locations.
This is day one, dress one, taken on and around the beach at Point Cartwright on the Sunshine Coast. We had so much fun!!
I did a few nice shots for her as well as she's getting involved in some modeling over in Japan. I'm sure she will blow them away too. She needed no direction when we were shooting, the camera just loves her!!
Like a monkey in a tree......
The above shot is one of my favourites.... I love the look on Jemimas face and I love the old feel to it. To me it looks like a photo taken in the 70's...
It was an awesome afternoon!!! Day two was just as much fun, if not more. We destroyed this dress even more then too, will post those photos soon. Thanks to Angie for doing the make up and to Amanda for being a great little helper and holder of the gear on the day :)
