Birds Birds Birds

I've been a little bird-snap-happy lately but I've seen so many just around the house that it only seems right to take their photo.  This was a mumma bird in her nest in a colourful tree in my mums front yard.

This little blue bird was singing such a pretty song as he bounced through my back hedge one day while I was hanging out washing.  So... as you do, I ran inside, grabbed my camera and chased him around trying to get a good shot before he took off.

I love the peek-a-boo shot!

I've also taken to feeding some baby magpies a little dried cracker when they squeak and squawk outside my front door.  My baby as I call him has been coming over for visits almost daily for the past 6 weeks or so and I've been taking some shots of him which he doesn't seem to mind.  These were the first I took of him and him with his mum.

These next ones were taken about 11 days later.  Such a funny little thing........

And finally, we now have 2 babies that come and go and this was the two of them together.

Living in a unit this is the closest thing I can have as a pet.  At least for now they are friendly, I just hope they remember me when it comes to swooping season next year!!

Love Love Love

Meet Tammy and Ryan and this was their Sunshine Coast E-shoot in preparation to their upcoming nuptials in the following weeks.  We met at their wedding venue at Flaxton (hinterland Sunshine Coast) and then began our photo adventure at Mary Caines Cross Park in Maleny at a beautiful big tree overlooking the stunning coastline.  This tree had very special meaning to our bride Tammy and her Mum Joy (who has sadly passed) so it was fitting we began there, where Tammy and her brother spent a lot of their childhood with their mum.  These first 2 ended up being 2 of my favourites from the day, how relaxed and perfect they are together.

These were some letters I made up and in the process of pinning them to the tree, I managed to prick my finger more than once and bled everywhere..... (luckily I always have band aids in my handbag).....  problem solved.... snap... moving right long.....  ;)

After the trek out of the field through the barbed wire fence, which may or may not have meant we shouldn't have been there but as I said the tree held such significance and we weren't there for long and went across the road to the picnic and park area.  We started under some trees and loved what we got!!

They made my job very easy being a loving and fun couple posing was no problem :)

As we went the long way back to the car checking for other suitable places before hitting the road once more, we got some beautiful afternoon sunlight peeking through another gorgeous tree, and again, they totally rocked it!

As we headed back down the range from Maleny to Landsborough we stopped for a quick few on this funky purple wall.

Again we were back in the car for our final destination, the always awesome Landsborough forestry.  We had stunning stunning light, we were so lucky.

Thanks guys for a wonderful day and it was a pleasure xx

(Stay tuned for their wedding photos too!)

A day with the baby tigers

I was fortunate enough to get to spend a morning with these little bundles of joys.  They are the newest addition to Dreamworlds Tiger Island, baby Bengal tigers Baru and Ravi.  Not only could we take as many photos as we liked, we were able to pat them and have our own photo with the tigers.

This is Ravi.  He just wanted to play but was also kind enough to stay still long enough to get a couple shots.  I didn't get anywhere near as many shots of him as the group was split in two with the cubs and we just happened to spend more time with Baru.

This is Baru and the bigger of the 2 in my opinion. When we pat him, his back wasn't as bony as skinny little Ravi. Baru was kind enough to just lay there and pose for me which was lovely.

I love the paw up like he is waving at us.  Such big feet with big pads.....

This was right towards the end of our time with the cubs and by this time, they were getting so tired themselves.

This was just perfect timing with Baru looking right at me.  I was lucky to get this one but so grateful to him.

I had a wonderful experience and would recommend it to anyone if you get the opportunity.
